Christmas In May?!

I hate to do this after the winter we’ve had, but I really want to share another layout I created a long time ago based on another Stuck?! Sketch. Sometimes I’m really good at creating a layout but less good about photographing, editing, posting and blogging. That’s totally the case here!

So using this Stuck?! Sketch as my jumping off point:

I created this layout:

Be Merry
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper – American Crafts; Cardstock – American Crafts; Rub-Ons – American Crafts; Buttons – American Crafts; Sequins – Teresa Collins; Marker – Stampin’ UP!; Washi – My Mind’s Eye; Ribbon – Target; Mist – Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Die cuts and machine – Silhouette Cameo; Border Punch – Stampin’ UP!; Die Cut Cardstock – Bazzill Basics

I totally dug into my stash I’d been hoarding to create this page. I loved this Merry-Mint line and I was again waiting for the “perfect” pictures because I didn’t want to “ruin” the paper. Well, I used pictures from a super fun crafty day with two of the most amazing ladies, so I’d say they are the perfect pictures. We used to spend many an afternoon crafting together, laughing together, crying together, laughing until we cry together, bitching together, wrecking things together (oh I guess that was just me and the heat gun)… I miss those days terribly. We’ve all geographically moved in many different directions, and let’s face it, nothing will ever be quite the same as “The Manor”.

National Scrapbook Day!

Today is National Scrapbook Day and I’m spending the cropping with the ScrapMuch? crew! I’m going to keep the celebrations of National Scrapbook Day on all week on my blog sharing some layouts and maybe a few other little treats and goodies too.

We all know I love to use sketches as a leaping off point for my layouts and Laura Whitaker runs another sketch site called Stuck?! Sketches.

So, using this layout from Stuck?! Sketches as a leaping point:

I created this layout:

Love This Moment
Supplies used: Patterned Paper – October Afternoon; Chipboard elements – October Afternoon; Cardstock – Bazzill Basics; Ink – Tim Holtz Distress; Die cuts and machine – Silhouette Cameo; Mist – Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Sequins – Teresa Collins

The photo is from the first time my toes ever touched the ocean. What an amazing moment. I remember getting in very late the night before and listening to the waves crash in but wanting to wait until daylight to get my first live glimpses of the ocean. The day was overcast as it was rainy season but it was such an amazing moment. Completely unforgettable. So thankful I got to scrap this important first in my life.

I hope you get the chance to be crafty today!
