Today – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

It’s also time for a ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A Reveal!

This week I am featuring a special little lady who turned 1 on December 1st.  I figured it was a fitting layout for this week, as this Sunday marks 1 year since her adoption into our home and hearts.  I’m talking about none other than sweet Tiffany.  She also has a Game of Thrones name of Tiffalyn Baratheon.  I’m not sure how I feel about her being a Baratheon… I digress.. Just like the photoshoot I did with Bella on her 1st birthday, I felt it was important to capture Tiffany’s 1st birthday too!

So here is what I created for this week:

Untitled

All patterned paper is Maggie Holmes for American Crafts. I fussy cut the flowers to create the circular elements. The polkadot heart, title, and 2 squares are all Heidi Swapp Minc products that I used rose gold foil on.  The pearls and chipboard ampersand are Pebbles. The floss is American Crafts. Cardstock is Bazzill Basics.

Speaking of Heidi Swapp Minc…. I am in loooooooove with her new CHA releases for the Minc! I can’t wait to get my hands on the reactive mist and ombre foils!!!  Had to believe the machine I never thought I’d use I have used on almost every layout since. I just love that metallic pop.

Here is the inspiration sketch for this week:

As you can see I took a little liberty with the sketch this week, mostly because I was really inspired by those 3×3 Minc elements.

So now it’s your turn! Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of team A has created for your inspiration!  I hope you get a chance to create your own sketch inspired pages to share with us!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until  January  29th, at midnight to participate in any of this month’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  You may take some artistic license with your adaptation of the sketches, however if you choose to use a double page sketch for a single page layout you may only enter once per sketch, not once per side.

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Pumpkin Everything – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

It’s once again time for Team A’s Sketch-y Friday reveal over on the ScrapMuch? blog.

This week I’m featuring the Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice line again. I just love this collection! Ironically it’s also the manufacturer spotlight over at ScrapMuch? and Laura has created a ton of amazing pages and projects with this line. I swear I did this layout up before I found out it was the feature of the month. Clearly I have great taste in paper!

Anyone else love pumpkin everything in the fall as much as I do? It’s always bittersweet for me because I love pumpkin but I hate that it means it’s the end of summer.

So, with all that intro, here is what I created for this week’s reveal:

Untitled

Pretty much everything for this layout was from the Pumpkin Spice line. I did use my Tim Holtz coffee cup stamp to ink up the base, fitting since it is a layout about coffee after all. I also used a piece of cork from a DCWV paper pad to add more texture, as well as some patterned lines to go with the dots and florals. I cut the title with my Silhouette. I glammed up the chipboard pumpkin with my clear Wink of Stella marker. The twine for the bow is American Crafts.

Here is the sketch we had to work with for this week:

Friends Always – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

I’m in denial that this weekend it’s November already.
I’m in denial that the clocks go back Saturday night.
I’m in denial watching the thermometer dip day by day.

So with the new month beginning on Sunday, it’s time for another Team A ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday reveal. In keeping with usual tradition, the first layout of the month is a double pager. I’m happy to share my layout featuring my Vegas Wolfpack! These ladies are awesome. We come from all walks of life, from all over the US and I’m the lone Canadian. I’ve known one of these amazing ladies since 2007. We always have so much fun together, bound together in our common love of scrapbooking, and travel, and travel for scrapbooking. We may not be able to all get together next year and that makes me very sad.

Untitled

I used a mix of Teresa Collins, Simple Stories, Heidi Swapp and Amy Tangerine products on this layout. I loved going with the black, white, and gold palette. I even added in some chipboard pieces that I put through the Minc (love that machine!) – the ampersand on the big camera embellie, and the “good times” on the photo.

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week

So now it’s your turn! Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of Team A has created for your inspiration! Then create your own sketch inspired layout and share with us for a chance to win an awesome ScrapMuch? prize!

Have a safe and Happy Hallowe’en everyone! I’ll see you in 2 weeks with my next ScrapMuch? creation!

Bella’s 1st Birthday – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello October. Hello Fall.

Hello first Friday of the month, which means it’s time for ScrapMuch? Team A’s double page reveal for this month. So without further adieu, I do believe it’s time to share what I created this week (and it’s pretty stinkin cute if I do say so myself!).

Untitled//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js
This layout is of yes, my sweet girl Bella’s First Birthday celebration. The entire page uses the Bella Blvd Riley collection, as well as some Bella Blvd enamel dots. I also managed to sneak in a Heidi Swapp Minc chipboard embellishment that was gifted to me by a friend at this year’s Teresa Collins Vegas event because it just worked so purrfectly! I chose to outline the letters in the title just to help them pop off the page a bit better. I’m not so sure Bella was happy about this celebration, but I’m sure she’s long forgotten it. I wonder what her wish was…

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week:

So now it’s your turn. Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog to see what the rest of the team has created for your inspiration this week. I hope you feel inspired enough to join in and share your creations with us. As always, when you link up you have the chance to win a fabulous ScrapMuch? prize too!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

National Scrapbook Day!

Today is National Scrapbook Day and I’m spending the cropping with the ScrapMuch? crew! I’m going to keep the celebrations of National Scrapbook Day on all week on my blog sharing some layouts and maybe a few other little treats and goodies too.

We all know I love to use sketches as a leaping off point for my layouts and Laura Whitaker runs another sketch site called Stuck?! Sketches.

So, using this layout from Stuck?! Sketches as a leaping point:

I created this layout:

Love This Moment
Supplies used: Patterned Paper – October Afternoon; Chipboard elements – October Afternoon; Cardstock – Bazzill Basics; Ink – Tim Holtz Distress; Die cuts and machine – Silhouette Cameo; Mist – Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Sequins – Teresa Collins

The photo is from the first time my toes ever touched the ocean. What an amazing moment. I remember getting in very late the night before and listening to the waves crash in but wanting to wait until daylight to get my first live glimpses of the ocean. The day was overcast as it was rainy season but it was such an amazing moment. Completely unforgettable. So thankful I got to scrap this important first in my life.

I hope you get the chance to be crafty today!

bloom – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Happy Valentine’s weekend everybody!

It’s time for another Team A ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday reveal, and the last February reveal for Team A. Which means spring is right around the corner. I hope.

It’s another week that I’ve dug into my stash and finally started to scrap things I’d been planning for a while. If only I had all the time in the world to scrapbook all my ideas I’d have no stash, full albums, and likely no job (hah!).

I’ve noticed somewhere in my archives that the inspiration sketch becomes a broken image, so I’ll be sharing the sketch last because the broken image irritates me a bunch.

So here is my layout for the week:
bloom
Supplies used: Patterned paper – Teresa Collins; Cardstock – DCWV, American Crafts; Stamps – Teresa Collins; Ink – Stampin’ UP!, Ranger; Tab Punch – Teresa Collins; Die Cut Machine – Silhouette Cameo; Twine – CTMH; Button – Teresa Collins; Mist – Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Chipboard – Teresa Collins

This picture has a ton of meaning to me, and I bought this paper to go along with this phase in my life. It was a page of tremendous growth and self discovery after a very difficult time. It’s from my first time at High Park for cherry blossom season. It was a time where I was starting to bloom, yet ever fragile, just like the cherry blossoms. There’s a little bit of hope to go with that too – that the trees survive the cold, bitter winter and produce beautiful blooms anyway. So just like life – you can go through some harsh, bitter times to a time of great beauty.

The paper blossoms were cut with my Silhouette and then I used some Tim Holtz distress ink on my splat mat and a waterbrush to create the multi-toned flowers. I learned the technique quite some time ago at one of my scrappy events. Laura has posted a waterbrush tutorial on her blog here.

Here is the inspiration sketch:

So now it’s your turn, of course! Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog to see what the rest of the team has created for inspiration this week. Then create your own and link up with us!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until February 28th, at midnight to participate in any of this months sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)  Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

ScrapMuch? and Stuck?! Sketches Pairing!

This month ScrapMuch? and Stuck?! Sketches have teamed up for a layout and colour challenge. ScrapMuch? is a frequent sponsor of Stuck?! Sketches. And Stuck?! Sketches invited the ScrapMuch? Design Team to take part in creating some inspiration for the challenge.

I’ve used a lot of Stuck?! Sketches for my non-ScrapMuch? layouts. I’ve taken part in a few challenges. I’m also highly skilled at missing Stuck?!’s deadlines by mere minutes too. I’m always delighted with the layouts I create, so not all is lost!

So here’s the rundown. ScrapMuch? provided the colour challenge, like they run every month. Stuck?! Sketches provided the sketch. You can choose to work with the colour challenge and post just to ScrapMuch? for a chance at a prize. You can choose to work with the sketch and just post to Stuck?! Sketches for a chance to win a prize. OR – You can combine the 2 and submit to both for double the chance to win a prize! Excited yet?!

Here is the ScrapMuch? palette for the colour challenge:
10882211_10152486300051039_6776231488288128549_n

To play along with ScrapMuch?, all you have to do is create a new paper crafted project, of any type, that uses at least 4 of the colours from the colour board and post it on your blog or any other online forum  (ie. your Flickr Account) that you can link us up to, by our deadline of February 28th at midnight.  Then link it using the Inlinkz tool in the sidebar.

Here is the Stuck?! inspiration sketch:
10897772_10152486300056039_7702138363548920277_n

To play along with Stuck?! Sketches, please link up your layouts over in their sidebar by February 28th, 2015 to be in the running for one of their prizes!   All prizes will be drawn randomly using Random.org to pick a number.

Please visit this post on Stuck?! Sketches for all the rules for joining in with this sketch challenge.

And here is my take using both the colour challenge and the sketch:
10922816_10152515980066039_1173954240422204490_n
Supplies used: Cardstock-Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper-October Afternoon; Mist-Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Buttons-American Crafts; Journal Card-Simple Stories; Bling-Bazzill Basics; Chipboard-Crate Paper; Die Cut Machine-Silhouette Cameo; Pens-American Crafts, Stampin’ UP!

This pic is from dinner one night at Inspiration Unlimited with some of my favourite scrapbooking ladies (and we’re definitely missing a few from the photo too!). They are a highlight of every scrapbook event for me for several years running now. I don’t just go for the projects and inspiration, I go for the friendship and camaraderie too. The title is fitting, when we get together, we have very Happy Times.

I dug deep into my stash again and used a lot of things I’d been “saving”. I’m learning that it’s far better to just use the stuff as I get it because after saving stuff for years I fall out of love with it and wonder what on earth I ever saw in it in the first place. I also found that the patterns all blended into each other too easily so I just outlined to make each part pop a little.

Thank you Stuck?! Sketches for inviting us to take part in your challenge! Please make sure you stop by both the Stuck?! Sketches and the ScrapMuch? blogs for some crafty inspiration. Of course I’d love for you to work with the 2 challenges and share your creations with us!

Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend! I’ll be back in one week for sure with some more ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday inspiration!
