Worth Remembering – Stick It Down Reveal

Hello and happy May! Saturday was National Scrapbook Day so I hope you found some time to be crafty this weekend!  It’s time for the Stick It Down double page team reveal for this month.

I dug into my stash for this one for pictures, papers and embellishments.  The sketch design reminded me somewhat of a quilt, and the Bazzill Basics Worth Remembering line also reminded me of some quilt patterns.  I have an abundance of Creative Escape pictures I haven’t scrapbooked yet so this was the perfect storm.  The final Creative Escape was based on the theme of Worth Remembering, including those papers and vintage feel embellishments.  So here is what I came up with for this month:
Untitled

I added some quilt style stitching around the patterned paper sidebars to continue the quilting and vintage feel.  The title was cut on the Silhouette and then some Wink of Stella red glitter was added over top.  Some photo stickers were added from the Simple Stories 24/7 collection as they have a similar colour palette.  And finally the page was finished off with some stamping, journaling, pearls, clear button, and twine.  The paper, flowers, pearls, button and twine are all Bazzill. The stamps are Stampin’ UP! and American Crafts Dear Lizzy.  The ink is Close To My Heart.

Here is the sketch we had for inspiration:

Aria – April Stick It Down Reveal

Happy April everybody! It’s time for my Stick It Down double page reveal.

I dove into my stash and used some of the papers and embellishments I was “saving” and “didn’t want to ruin” for this month’s layout.  The pictures were from my most recent trip to Vegas where I stayed at the Aria.  I plan to use this page in a mixed traditional and pocket page album since I tend to take a lot of pictures and collect a lot of “stuff” when traveling and pocket pages are perfect for that.  So, here is my page for this month:

Untitled

I used papers from Teresa Collins, Studio Calico and American crafts.  The cut file I made myself on the Silhouette. The photo stickers are by Simple Stories. The phrase stickers are Tim Holtz. The mists are Heidi Swapp Color Shine. And the 3 little gems are by Teresa Collins.

As for the pictures, one view is of one of the towers at Aria, a pool selfie where I spend a few hours every day until I need to escape the heat, the spectacular brioche french toast and bottomless rosé from brunch at Bardot, and the super cool tequila wall at Javiers.

Here is the sketch for this month so you can join us over at Stick It Down for a chance to win a prize, or be a featured designer! Fun! Check out their blog today to see what the rest of the double page team has created for your inspiration. As always, I can’t wait to see what you create!

March Stick-It-Down Feature Reveal

Hello and Happy March!

I am thrilled to be back with Stick It Down this month after missing last month.  Thank you to the wonderful team at Stick It Down for being so supportive as I looked after some family matters.  I did eventually complete February’s layout and will post it at some point.

March is also the month where I am the featured designer for the Stick It Down double page team! (no pressure!)  We have a really fun layout for your double page scrapbook inspiration.  Once again I took a few liberties with the sketch and had a little bit of fun with it.  I opted to stick with photo and embellishment clusters like in the sketch, but used a bunch of journaling cards and changed the sizes of the elements to work for me.  I worked with the Fancy Pants Summer Sun collection that I picked up at ScrapFest last year. I just love the dreamy colour palette and all the fun embellishments that are great for building fun clusters.  The paper is also an amazing weight and texture.

So here is what I created for this month:

March Feature 2a

I used pictures from our amazing January trip to Playa del Carmen and Cancun Mexico. I added in some misting (Heidi Swapp and Tattered Angels) and inking (Tim Holtz), as well as a few fun rhinestones from Recollections.

Here is the sketch for March:

So now it’s your turn! Hop on over to the Stick It Down blog to view the sketches (single page, card AND double page!) and be inspired. To see what the rest of the double page team has created you will want to go back on Monday the 6th to see their reveals!  Make sure you share your creations with us by the end of the month for a chance to win a prize AND to be a featured designer for May!  I can’t wait to see what you create!

Happy – Final ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Yes, the title is true. This week’s reveal is my final reveal for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday design team.  After 2 amazing years of hard work and dedication heading up the design team (creating our sketches, colour challenges, and keeping us in check), and even longer as “THE”designer at ScrapMuch?, Laura is taking a well earned semi-retirement.  I feel very fortunate to have been with the team since the very beginning. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I read the email that I was a successful applicant to the team.  It’s been a great ride. I owe a lot to Laura and to ScrapMuch? for helping me to find my scrappy “voice”, and inspiring me to expand my creativity. For many years my true passion was making mini albums and I used to find sketches nice, but limiting.  Now I can fearlessly tackle a sketch, make it my own (if needed), and take creative license if the mood hits.  Thank you Laura and ScrapMuch? for the amazing ride, for believing that my creations could be used as inspiration for others, and for giving me the inspiration to return to 12×12 scrapping. I also want to thank my fellow team members who have inspired me, supported me and pushed me to “up my scrappy game”. I hope to keep in touch in the blogosphere or other social media.

When I created this layout I had no idea it would be my last for the team. It was only with one person in mind, who was just celebrated a week ago for Mother’s Day, and will be celebrated again next week for her birthday.  I’d like to think she’s tickled pink about this page (pun intended!). So here is this week’s reveal:
Untitled

I built this page with a 6×6 paper pad (really making an effort to use these since I can’t stop buying them), some washi tape (see same reason as 6×6 pad), more minc words and shapes, and my fav flourish stamps to form part of the backgound.

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week:

So what does this all mean? I don’t fully know. ScrapMuch? will continue to be an awesome mobile store and host crops and retreats through the year. I will continue to scrapbook, though I may try to work more on pocket pages since they’ve been quite back-burnered since I started with the sketch team. I’ll still blog but it won’t be as regular as I have been. And who knows what the future holds!

What I do know is this is your last chance to join in on the Sketch-y Friday challenges for a chance to win an awesome ScrapMuch? prize as we know it!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until May 29th, at midnight to participate in any of this month’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  You may take some artistic license with your adaptation of the sketches, however if you choose to use a double page sketch for a single page layout you may only enter once per sketch, not once per side.

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)  Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!

Thank you Laura, so proud to call you a friend.

Good Times – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal!

Hello everyone! We’re stating May a little bit early at ScrapMuch? and it’s time for the Team A 2 page layout reveal!

For this week, I went back to my beloved October Afternoon Girl Talk collection, and some pics from a super fun night in Vegas when I, with 6 of my scrapbook wolfpack, went to see Jeff Dunham at Planet Hollywood. Even though I’d already seen him there 6 months earlier it was still awesome and I still laughed all night. So here is this week’s reveal:

Adventure – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hi everyone! It’s time once again for a ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A reveal!

This week I went with a whole mishmosh of my travel themed scrapbook things. What I really like about how this came together, is I used products from several manufacturers and it still managed to work (if I do say so myself).  The picture was at the start of the epic trip that took way longer than it should thanks to a mechanical delay for the second leg.  I took a selfie when it was all over – it was significantly less flattering. So here is my layout for this week:

13012770_10153388351726039_2713036828675287697_n

I have a mix of Jillibean Soup, Simple Stories, Heidi Swapp, We R Memory Keepers, October Afternoon, and Evalicious in the paper and embellies. I stamped with some Teresa Collins and Dear Lizzy stamps, used some Tim Holtz distress ink, some Wink of Stella marker on the geotag heart, and some Heidi Swapp colour shine mists. And of course put in the important details with an amazing uniball signo white pen.

Here is the sketch we had to work with:

Celebrate – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

No foolin! It’s April!  It’s also the first Friday in April which means it’s time for another ScrapMuch? Team A double page layout reveal.

I dug into my stash and used some of my hoarded Cosmo Cricket wedding themed paper – so you know this is a pretty special layout! Cosmo Cricket used to be my absolute fav scrapbook paper company and I don’t have much left. So, I used it to feature one of my fav couples who just tied the knot and I am so grateful I got to be there for the amazing celebration of this special couple. Without further adieu, here is my layout for this week:

Untitled

I managed to mix in some new with the old by using my Heidi Swapp Minc again with a few Minc shapes for the embellies. The washi tape is Graphic 45. The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch. I got to use my Dear Lizzy roller stamp to stamp the memorable date as part of the embellishment cluster. And the title is American Crafts.

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week. I personally have never managed to get slanted photos to work in a way I’m happy with – I own that I’m more clean and simple than I am whimsy. And that’s ok.  I otherwise stuck pretty true to the sketch:
