Hello Sunshine – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello and Happy Friday! It’s mid-August already, and it’s once again time for a ScrapMuch? Team A Sketch-y Friday reveal!

I really liked the sketch we had to work with this week. I liked it so much I have an extra post to show you another take on the super fun sketch! So here is my reveal for this week:

Hello Sunshine2
The patterned paper and flair are from Lawn Fawn. The mist is Heidi Swapp Color Shine. The cardstock is Bazzill Basics. The sequins are Teresa Collins. The washi tape is from Bella Blvd. The little button is American Crafts. The fun puffy tag sticker is from Evalicious. And the ink is of course Tim Holtz Distress.

I found myself reminiscing about my favourite place on earth and thought it was a good idea to scrapbook some happy memories from there. I thought this paper from Lawn Fawn was perfect to help me capture some super happy fun in the sun memories!

Here is the sketch we had to work with this week:

And once again it’s your turn! Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog to see what the rest of Team A’s inspiring creations. Then make your own layout and share it with us for a chance to win an awesome ScrapMuch? prize!

Tiffany’s – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

I know I sound like “old tapes” but seriously, where has the time gone between Hallowe’en and today?! It’s Friday! It’s been 2 weeks since Team A’s last reveal for ScrapMuch?, and it’s time for some new sketch-y inspiration to jumpstart your creativity this weekend!

So here is the sketch we had to work with this week:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Tiffanys
Supplies used: Cardstock-Stampin’ UP!; Patterned paper-Lawn Fawn; Twine-Stampin’ UP!; Sequins-Teresa Collins; Sewing machine-Janome; Thickers-American Crafts; Ribbon and plain blue circles-Tiffany!!; Ink-Tim Holtz Distress; Mist-Mister Huey’s; Journaling pen-Stampin’ UP!; Punches-Ek Success and Stampin’ UP!

I admit this sketch was a bit of a challenge for the very linear me! My clean and simple ways will generally try to straighten out lines, but I didn’t really want a filmstrip look for this either. I also moved the journaling onto a card and used the other space for embellies. I compensated for my struggles with the whimsy placement of photos by sticking to a very monochromatic palette, appropriately the Tiffany colours. The plain blue circles on the layout are actually punched out of the Tiffany bag, and the ribbon is the ribbon from the box. When I travel I tend to collect a lot of “stuff” and ephemera and generally find a way to scrapbook it or use it in my mini albums or pocket pages.

I know I still haven’t blogged about my Vegas trip nor Inspiration Unlimited yet, but I am slowly scrapping and sharing some memories in these reveals. This page is from my Vegas trip as well. On my last night there, I decided I was going to leave Las Vegas a winner. Let’s face it, going home with pretty jewelry is pretty much hitting the jackpot amirite?!? I had been coveting some Tiffany earrings for a while and pretty things make me happy. Since there was a Tiffany in The Shops At Crystals that was attached to Aria where I was staying, it would just be wrong of me to not go there and get them!! They went on my ears when I got home the next day, and I haven’t taken them off since!

I would love for you to hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of Team A has created for your inspiration! Little hint? There are are some pretty darn amazing layouts for you to see! And of course, as always, I would love to see what you create!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until November 29th, at midnight to participate in any of November’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

ScrapMuch?! Sketch-y Friday Lawn Fawn Reveal

It’s Friday! It’s Team A’s turn for another ScrapMuch?! Sketch-y Friday reveal!

This week I played with more of my Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine pack that I got from ScrapMuch?! What can I say, I have been loving the Lawn Fawn paper collection packs. They’re the right amount of whimsy without being too cutesy, you can class them up, and the sequins and flair are just amazing! I actually used this line for my “audition” sketch with ScrapMuch?! and here I am back to it again.

So – here is the sketch for this week:

And here is my take on the sketch:
Tiiu July 18 SM
Supplies used: Cardstock-Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper-Lawn Fawn; Sequins-Lawn Fawn; Flair-Lawn Fawn; Chipboard tag-Bazzill Basics; Pin-Little Yellow Bicycle; Clip-Fancy Pants; Mist-Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist; Twine-Stampin’ UP!; Arrow clip-Freckled Fawn; Title stickers-Sassafras Lass; Pen-Stampin’ UP!; Die cut machine-Silhouette Cameo; Ink-Tim Holtz Distress Ink for Ranger; Sewing machine-Janome

I opted to go spanish for the title – Sonrisa is spanish for Smile – and smile I did! I went very random with the sequins because it reminded me of bubbles in the ocean water. I used my Cameo to cut the striped paper to simulate the ocean waves. I used my cameo again to make the viewfinder from the patterned paper. Viewfinders are very much my go-to circle shape right now. I inked it a little to help the squares stand out against the orange paper backing piece.

Here are some detail shots:

As for the moment in the photo – it was an unexpectedly super fun once in a lifetime moment that I didn’t expect to love as much as I did. Before I went I worried about how cold the water would be, how well cared for the dolphins would be, how much of a tourist trap it would be (it is but didn’t have to be, the CD of photos was for me money very well spent). The water wasn’t cold at all, the dolphins were well cared for. I remember how amazingly silky their skin is, how friendly and social they are, and how smart they are.

I would love for you to pop over to the ScrapMuch?! blog and see what the rest of the team has created with this sketch. Then of course you need to play along and share it with us too! 🙂 And if you do.. there’s a chance to win a prize!!!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until Tuesday July 29th, at midnight to participate in any of July’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!

Speaking of ScrapMuch?!, I’m super excited to be spending my day tomorrow cropping with them again. Now I just need to figure out what on earth I’m going to work on while I’m there! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!
