Simply Tiffany – May 1st Stuck?! Sketch

While cropping with the ScrapMuch? ladies on NSD I created this wee little layout based on the May 1 Stuck?! Sketches sketch. I meant to post this earlier but time just got away from me this month, so here I am just under the wire!

This sketch proved to be a little more difficult to work with for me than I thought it would be, but in the end I’m happy with the finished product. Here’s what I created from that sketch:

I managed to use up some more of my Graphic45 Raining Cats And Dogs (love this line!), some Simple Stories embellishments from their cat line, and a few other fun embellishments from my stash. The star however is truly Tiffany. She’s so sweet when she’s sleeping!

Thanks for stopping by! I plan on spending some time tomorrow cropping with the ScrapMuch? ladies because I think it’s the last time I’ll get to join them until the fall. Have a fabulous weekend and I’ll for sure be back next week with another ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday reveal!

Lucky Cat – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Ok, I know I’ve said this before but seriously.. where on earth have these last 2 weeks gone?!? I’ve been uber busy family time, a super fun weekend watching some amazing skating and that little thing called work. Time flies when you’re having fun indeed! Anyways, it’s another ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday and Team A is up with their reveals this week!

Today I’m sharing another layout with pictures from my last Vegas trip. I’m not sure how I feel about this layout because it’s a lot busier than I normally create. I actually have added a few extra sequins since I uploaded this layout to ScrapMuch? to give it a bit more of a traditional “me” feel and I’m still not sure; but to me it helped.

Lucky Cat
Supplies used: Cardstock – Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper – Graphic45; Die Cut Machine – Tim Holtz Vagabond; Rosette Die – Tim Holtz Alterations; Flowers – Bella Blvd; Brad – Pink Paislee; Twine – Close to my Heart; Charms – Tim Holtz Fragments; Feather – Bella Blvd; Letters & Flourish – Tim Holtz Grungeboard; Mist – Heidi Swapp Color Shine; Tab Punch – Teresa Collins for Fiskars; Sewing Machine – Janome

And here are some detail shots (yes, really!). I made 2 of my own embellishments using an old technique with Tim Holtz Fragments, Glossy Accents and good quality patterned paper. You can see the first Fragment embellishment in the cluster in the first detail shot. The other is at the top left of the page in the other embellishment cluster.

The Lucky Cat is a new art installation at the Cosmopolitan and I wanted to make sure I got a visit and a picture in before I left. Thankfully I had just enough time before seeing Jeff Dunham on my last night. The way it works with Lucky Cat is you press her raised paw and she will give you either a fortune, some free plays at the casino, or reportedly even a free stay at the Cosmopolitan. I got a very cute fortune wishing me a good night that night, and a good life. I’ll take it. And I had a great night that night.

Here is our inspiration sketch. As you can see I took a little bit of liberty with it to make it work with the pictures.

So now it’s your turn! Hop on over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of Team A has created. Incidentally this is the last reveal for the current Team A as it exists. The Design Team call is over and the announcement will be made very soon. One thing is for sure, there will be some new faces on both teams! So make sure you visit and leave them some blog love! And as always, make sure you create your own layouts to share with us in the link-up for a chance to win a ScrapMuch? prize! Have a wonderful weekend! I know I’ll be scrapbooking!

Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until April 29th, at midnight to participate in any of this month’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!  You may take some artistic license with your adaptation of the sketches, however if you choose to use a double page sketch for a single page layout you may only enter once per sketch, not once per side.

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)  Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!

The Spa At Mandarin Oriental – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello everyone and happy April! It’s finally officially spring, we are finally starting to see the weather turn for the better, and it’s Easter weekend. It also means that it’s time for another ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Team A Reveal! It’s a short and sweet post for me this week. Since my last reveal I’ve been fighting a horrendous cold (among other things) and it’s still lingering. Thankfully I’m at least on the mend and the worst is hopefully behind me.

I also mentioned in my last reveal that I was traveling, and I’m happy I managed to scrapbook some photos from that trip for this layout thanks to my amazing Canon Selphy. I love love love being able to print awesome pictures at home. I took an impromptu 3 day 2 night trip to Las Vegas to get a little bit of sun and warm and escape the cold and snow. I also took some time to spoil myself at the amazing spa at the Mandarin Oriental hotel after the extremely difficult losses of Socks and Matisse. A dear friend who has been through some difficult pet loss of her own suggested I needed something to look forward to for me, and this was absolutely perfect.

Here is my layout for this week:
The Spa At MO
Supplies used: Cardstock-American Crafts; Patterned Paper and Embellishments-Graphic45 Birdsong; Clip-Freckled Fawn; Twine-Bazzill Basics; Title Stickers-Basic Grey; Mist-Heidi Swapp Color Shine

Every visit to the Mandarin Oriental spa starts with the shoe exchange ceremony where they take your shoes and bring you spa sandals, symbolizing leaving your past and cares behind. The exchange is also accompanied by some amazing mint tea and a refreshing cool facecloth. The decor in the spa is as expected, understated and elegant.

Each time I’ve gone to the spa I’ve booked a treatment at the Chinese Foot Spa. Whenever I go to a new spa I like to try their specialty, or something that is unique to them that I can’t get anywhere else. From their spa brochure: “It is the highest honor in many Eastern cultures to wash the feet of their guests. Inspired by the foot spas of the Far East, guests will receive an authentic foot treatment including a steeping hot foot bath infused with invigorating or relaxing herbal blends. After the ceremonial foot bath, guests are escorted to private reclining lounge chairs with majestic views of Las Vegas Boulevard. Detailed massage movements which focus on reflex points in the feet and lower legs provide a great way to recover from long walks on The Strip.” Speaking of long walks on the strip, my Jawbone UP24 I was averaging 8 miles a day during that whirlwind trip. So my psyche and feet earned that relaxation!! I think the look on my face in the selfie pretty much says it all. Just an amazing spa. A total treat. I’ve been lucky to visit many incredible spas in my life, and Mandarin Oriental is the best of them all.

On a scrappy note, I’m happy I got to use up more of my Graphic45 Birdsong paper pack. It seems to be lasting forever and I got to a point where I was bored of looking at it. 2 years later it was fun to work with again and I don’t have much left now. I also admit I “borrowed” a picture from their website to make the sketch work – but it was also a perfect reminder of the foot treatment. I’m also guilty of not using my letter stickers enough, so it felt great to use a bunch of them long lingering in my stash.

Here is our inspiration sketch for this week, and you’ll see I stuck pretty true to the sketch:

So now it’s your turn! Head on over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of Team A created for this week. Then, create your own layout and link up for a chance to win an awesome ScrapMuch? prize! I’ve absolutely loved the amazing submissions we’ve been getting!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend everybody!

My Girl – ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal

Hello everyone! I can’t believe 2 weeks have passed since my last ScrapMuch? reveal, but here we are again. Team A is back this week with yet another fabulous reveal (if I do say so myself!)!

Here is the sketch we had to work with:

And here is my take on the sketch:
SM Oct17
Supplies used: Patterned paper – Graphic 45; Distress Ink – Tim Holtz; Wood hearts – Studio Calico; Washi – stash; Wordfetti – 7Gypsies, Banner sticker – Pink Paislee; Flair – American Crafts; Metal charm – Making Memories; Thickers – American Crafts Amy Tangerine; Die cut machine – Silhouette Cameo; Photo printing – Canon Selphy CP910

I played with some of the brand stinkin’ new Graphic 45 Raining Cats and Dogs that I got from the amazing ScrapMuch?! I’ve had a long running love affair with Graphic 45 and I am absolutely thrilled they came out with a pet themed line. This line did not disappoint at all! It’s classic Graphic 45, not excessively cutesy, and has a ton of generic papers too!

My sweet kitty, Socks, is the focus of this layout. I’m trying to scrapbook her more because I know it will be really difficult when she is gone. What can I say, she’s an awesome cat, and I’m very biased.

How about some detail shots since I took them this week?

So now it is your turn! I’d love for you to pop over to the ScrapMuch? blog and see what the rest of the team created (Hint: I’m the only one who didn’t scrap a Hallowe’en themed layout because I don’t have kids and it’s been eons since I’ve gone to a Hallowe’en party)! We would love for you to join us in any one of our weekly sketch challenges or our monthly colour challenge!  Here is a run down of our Sketch-y Friday rules.  Just link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize.    You have until October 29th, at midnight to participate in any of October’s sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date! I can’t wait to see what you create!

Have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
