I really didn’t intend to take 8 months off of blogging. I am happy to announce I will be blogging again at least once a month as I have joined the double page team at Stick it Down sketch challenge blog. For those unfamiliar, Stick it Down posts a single page, double page and card sketch monthly. Scrappers and card makers are invited to join in the challenges by sharing their work and may be selected to be a future guest designer, and occasionally prizes are offered too.
This month I chose to scrapbook some pictures from this Christmas. I won a My Mind’s Eye Comfort and Joy page pack at a recent scrapping retreat and I thought it was a great time to use my new goodies. I often buy beautiful Christmas paper and then so seldom scrapbook Christmas because I don’t take very many pictures.
The title is a Silhouette cut file. I used some Christmas washi from my stash that I think is My Mind’s Eye as well, and finally some American Crafts twine behind the chipboard stocking.
In typical to me fashion, I took some liberties with the sketch to suit my style a bit better. That’s the beauty of sketches for me. I used to view them as very limiting, but have learned to treat them as more of a suggestion or guideline.
Here is the original January sketch we had to work with:
So, now it’s your turn to hop on over to the Stick It Down blog and see what the rest of the team has created and join in any or all of the challenges!
Finally, thank you to those who have reached out and wondered if I was going to be blogging or posting my work again. Work, school, and the seemingly never-ending house project have kept me busy. Also, aside from Ready, Set, Create! and a ScrapMuch? retreat, where I worked on my many unfinished projects, I haven’t been crafty at all. Obviously that’s changing!
