I’ve been spending more time in my happy place creating and I’ve been loving every second! I’ve had the Canadian Scrapbooker October Sketch Challenge sketch up in my tabs for a while because I thought it would be fun to play along with. It turned out to be a bigger challenge than I anticipated, but I’m still happy with the end result. It goes without saying I loved the process of playing with paper.
So here is the sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch:
Supplies used: Cardstock-Die Cuts With a View; Patterned Paper-Graphic 45; Button-American Crafts; Thickers-American Crafts; Sequins-Teresa Collins, Fancy Pants; Oval Sticker-7Gypsies; Thread-Bazzill Basics; Tab-Teresa Collins for Fiskars punch; Enamel dots-Simple Stories.
I feel like this is a lot more clean and simple than I’ve been scrapping lately, but I’m totally ok with that. I also took a little bit of license on the sketch, and I’m also totally ok with that too. I think it’s part because the Graphic 45 papers are so visual I don’t want to clutter it up too much. I also used a technique Laura Whitaker shared on her blog for embellishing buttons. It’s funny because I’ve often put a large bling in the middle of a button, but never thought to use some of the patterned paper from the collection. I also hand stitched which is a total rarity for me these days, despite loving the look on other layouts.
For the record, yes, that really is me in a cat onesie. Yes my sweet Socks is giving me kisses on my chin. She is a very affectionate cat with me in all ways, including scratchy kitty kisses!
Thanks for popping by! And stay tuned, Team A is up again this week on the ScrapMuch? blog with another Sketch-y Friday reveal, and it’s awesome!
Totally love this. Such a sweet photo too. Great take on the sketch 🙂
